A native of San Diego, Blaze became interested in urban environments after a study abroad experience in Barcelona. This interest led him to attend Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where he studied and earned a B.S. in City and Regional Planning.
Upon graduating, Blaze relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area and has spent a large part of his professional career working as an urban design and planning consultant, working with numerous jurisdictions in matters of advance planning, community engagement and design. Additionally, Blaze has worked with downtowns around the country to develop strategic development plans, empowering city centers to prioritize goals and objectives for public and private realm development.
Blaze is excited to join UC Berkeley’s MRED+D program, and he aims to strengthen his philosophy of strong, sustainable and equitable community building through an applied understanding of real estate development and project feasibility. He looks forward to using the knowledge, skills and relationships cultivated through the program to develop projects that synergize with their surroundings and strike a balance to provide value for stakeholders and community members.
In his spare time, Blaze enjoys the outdoors (especially surfing), creating art and spending time with friends and family.
