Adrian DeGasperis joins the MRED+D program from Toronto, Ontario with 5 years of real estate development and building experience. He received a Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning from Ryerson University in 2016 and is currently pursuing his professional designation to become an Ontario Registered Professional Planner (RPP).
Adrian brings knowledge from his involvement in master planned communities across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), having held roles in planning and development consulting, land development, and single-family home building. While working as a consultant, Adrian was part of a specialized team in landowner-group management, facilitating the preparation of cost sharing agreements between neighboring developers within master planned communities of up to 1000 hectares. Adrian’s assessments of planning frameworks and real estate feasibility analysis supported various components of the land acquisition, development approval timelines, and pre-construction processes.
In the past 3 years, Adrian worked in greenfield land development for Great Gulf, managing the land-use planning of mixed-use communities, development approvals, as well as assisting in earthworks and site servicing. Critical to ensuring sustainable place-making and a complete community, Adrian’s projects often integrated the realignment, enhancement and compensation of natural heritage features and habitats, the incorporation of parks, trails, and school blocks, as well as the adaptive reuse of heritage buildings. In addition, Adrian has participated in working groups seeking to improve the nexus between land development and construction towards improving green development standards and policies for a lower carbon economy.
Adrian looks forward to enhancing his skillset real estate finance and partnership deal structures informed by an integrative sustainable design process. He envisions great opportunity in building low embodied and operating carbon communities through a triple bottom line design-build framework that creates greater value for investors and consumers alike.
Outside of real estate, Adrian enjoys the arts with a passion for music and photography, as well as maintaining a healthy lifestyle by running, cycling, swimming, golfing, and snowboarding.
