I am a Ph.D. Candidate and UC Berkeley Chancellor's Fellow in the Department of City and Regional Planning. My research focuses on the politics of urban infrastructure. I consider the spatial distribution of environmental burdens, as well as the movements and policy interventions that aim to build greater equity into capital plans. My research highlights how adversely impacted low-income communities and communities of color contest and inform infrastructure development and maintenance programs. I am currently a Graduate Fellow at the UC Berkeley Center for Research on Social Change.
My scholarly pursuits are informed by professional practice, including work for the cities of San Francisco, New York, and Richmond, CA, as well as for the Greenlining Institute. I hold a B.A. from UC Berkeley and a Master of City Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
